On our way home from the gym yesterday, Kevin mentioned how he could go for a big plate of spicy green papaya salad. Mmm. I said ‘OKAY! Let’s go for some Thai!’ Of course, he was only being a tease. 🙁 HAHA. It’s probably better that we didn’t eat out. I have all sorts of fresh produce and meat in the fridge that I need to use up first. But ever since he mentioned that papaya salad, I can’t help but crave Thai food.

To be honest, I can’t remember the last time we had Thai for dinner. Portland maybe? Wow, was Portland really the last time? Kevin, can we go out for Thai this week? 😉

Our favorite Thai spot in the DMV is Thai House Restaurant in Gaithersburg, MD. Have you been? I think it’s been there for ages, but we only recently discovered it. We celebrated my friend’s birthday at the Thai House Restaurant in May and I have to say, it’s the best Thai food we’ve had in the area! Maybe that’s why we haven’t had Thai cuisine more recently – the places closer to us no longer satisfy our Thai cravings (especially after Portland Thai food).

Here are some of the dishes we love at Thai House.

green papaya

Papaya Salad Deluxe – Julienne green papaya, string beans, tomatoes and roasted peanuts mixed with spicy lime dressing, served with Tiger Brown shrimp.

drunken noodle

Kee Mao Drunken Noodles – Wide rice noodles topped with egg, chicken and shrimp, cooking in spicy basil sauce (Ask for it super spicy…so addictive!)

thai tilapia

Pla Tod – Tilapia fillet fried to perfection and served with chili garlic sauce.

So the friends we went with to Thai House are the same friends we went with to Grace Garden. Can you imagine all the deliciousness we ate? Unfortunately, I didn’t take photos of every dish we had. There were too many, my camera would’ve broken! 😉 HAHA. Here is a list of all the dishes we tried.

Basil Fried Rice (chicken)

OMG! 10 dishes for 4 people…that’s crazier than the 8 we ordered for 4 at Grace Garden! I feel like we asked our server for one of everything! Maybe it’s a good thing we haven’t gone out to eat with these friends in a while…. although…. if you’re reading this post, you guys wanna go out for Thai tonight?! HAHA.

If you’re in the area or don’t mind the drive, give Thai House Restaurant a try! We loved it. They have 2 locations – 8369 Snouffer School Rd. in Gaithersburg and 4011E Norbeck Rd. in Rockville.
